Castleton Barns, St Athan
Very attractive listed barns situated just outside St Athan village. The company had to liaise with Cadw, and the local authority, in order to convert the barns into three individual residences. Wherever possible we tried to retain the original fabric of the building – exposed beams, horsehair rendering, hardwood windows, Welsh slate roof, cast iron guttering – in order to enhance the character of the building. These were very large barns which created very large living spaces with their own private gardens and driveways.
